CLD Board Meeting Minutes August 24, 2020
Our August 24th, 2020 meeting was called to order at 7:19p by President Teresa Litchfield, via Cisco Webex Meetings. Present at today’s meeting are Teresa Litchfield, Casey Eiten, Leslie Burket, Jordan Wilton, Marilyn Weber, Katie Keim, John Simpson and Paula Briney.
TREASURER’S REPORT – KATIE KEIM
Bank balance: $3349.88
Savings: $25,950.8
Current net loss for 2020: ($2,346.89)

MEMBERSHIP REPORT – JORDAN WILTON
Jordan reports there are no new additions to our CLD roster.
YEAR END AWARDS
Casey reports that she is on the lookout for year-end awards. She is sharing ideas with other clubs, all hoping to find something a little unique for the awards.
Annual Awards Banquet: We discussed the many unknowns and how fluid the daily Pandemic changes are for Illinois and our surrounding states. Would members be interested in attending a banquet in this environment? We would have to abide by state’s current ‘restrictions’, social- distancing, etc. Perhaps we could do a virtual awards presentation. That said, we are going to send out a short survey to all members to secure their feedback.
SCHOOLING SHOWS
As the ‘Pandemic – COVID-19’ jumped in when we were just starting our competitive season, we realized there aren’t as many opportunities to show and collect enough scores to qualify for year-end awards.
IceBreaker was early in the season and was cancelled. Shortly after that, most all USDF & USEF scheduled shows were put on hold or cancelled, except FireCracker, which was well attended! Recognizing that riders may not have secured the needed scores in that short window, Casey Eitens made a motion to allow two rides at the same level, at the same show, to count for schooling show awards this year only. Jordan Wilton seconded. It passed unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS
Slate of Officers – it is that time again – Teresa will get the process underway.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, September 21, 2020 at 7pm, via Cisco Webex Meetings. Teresa will provide goodies for the meeting!
