JIM KUHN MEMORIAL HIGH POINT AWARD
Every year at CLD Classic the high point Jr/YR receives the Jim Kuhn Memorial Award. It was first awarded in 1995, the summer following his death of cancer, by CLD to honor the memory of the hardest working non-member of the club. Married to Alice Martin (a founder of CLD) and father of Martin Kuhn, Jim hauled tons (literally, the first rings were concrete blocks and 2" x 4"s and weighed more than 2000 pounds for one regulation arena), set up sound systems and secretary's tents, and then videotaped the classes. He was an important part of every club function and a happy attendee at our potlucks. The plaques are on display at StarWest.
